Jenson Button to co-host Top Gear?
BBC acted quickly and hired Chris Evans who will run the show from next year together with co-hosts set to be selected after a series of auditions where everyone is invited.
The BBC1 show is undergoing a revamp following the controversial departure of Jeremy Clarkson and his sidekicks, Richard Hammond and James May.
And the booking makes sense as the former One Show host and Jenson are close pals, while the racing driver appeared on Chris’ Radio 2 show back in January 2013 where their chemistry was undeniable.
Neither Button’s spokesman nor the BBC deny that talks are taking place but both refuse to comment on “speculation”.
He is now 35 and is expected to retire at the end of the current F1 season. “I would love to win the British Grand Prix, I would love to even be on the podium”.
The star took part in the “Star in the Reasonably Price Car” segment of the show on a snowy day in 2010 and admitted beforehand he was “cold” and “nervous”.
Evans was confirmed as the Top Gear host last month but his fellow presenters have yet to be named.
As dozens of entries were submitted, from the wacky to the deadly serious, it emerged that former model Jodie Kidd may also be in the running for a coveted co-star position.
