Sony Xperia X Review: An Expensive Comeback
The three phones are meant to represent a new beginning of sorts for Sony‘s smartphone division – the X series – which looks like it will supersede Sony’s current Z family of flagships.
All the handsets of Sony Xperia X series is available for preorder. While other smartphone batteries quickly decline in strength, Xperia X delivers up to two times battery lifespan using ground-breaking Qnovo Adaptive Charging which maintains battery health while charging. On the right is a power button that doubles up as a fingerprint scanner along with volume key and a dedicated camera shutter button. The existing DK52 charging dock and Digital Noise Cancelling headsets designed for the Xperia Z5 series handsets are compatible with X Series and are now available through Sony directly, at Sony Kiosks, Sony Centre and Telstra’. The unlocked smartphone that comes with 32 GB of native storage is available in color choices like lime gold, rose gold, white and graphite black. However, of all the handsets launched in the series, Sony Xperia X is the most expensive, at a price of $699.
The Sony Xperia X series may have received lukewarm response in the United States but this has been largely down to the lack of interest from carriers to offer the models in the lineup.
The Predictive Hybrid Autofocus was developed in close collaboration with Sony’s α camera engineers, and works by tracking an object and cleverly predicting its movement to produce clear, blur-free shots.
It’s part of Sony’s 23MP rear camera that ‘also features SteadyShot stabilisation for recording smooth videos and minimising “shaky cam” effects, resulting in the world’s most stable video capture’. Last but not the least, customers interested in the Xperia XA Ultra will be able to pick them up for $370 from July 24th.
Sony is making sure that they have the best battery life in their class, with a full two days of actual use on a single charge. The smartphone includes a 2300mAh battery, which also supports Quick Charging technology.
As for the pricing, the Xperia X would be available for a price of $550.
