Now ‘like’ 360-degree videos in VR on Facebook
Oculus, the leading VR Company, owned by Facebook unveiled for the Gear VR Headset its new 360 degree video reactions.
Those who browse Facebook in virtual reality can now react to the content they are seeing using the social network’s emojis.
This roll out indicates Facebook’s emphasis on virtual reality whereas the company also stated that Oculus and VR are the important parts of their product roadmap and it is another indication of more future integration between Facebook and its Oculus platform.
The new reactions option introduced by the company is just another branding strategy that the company is using to bring more users closer and to attract more people towards this new world of VR headsets. It specially focused on video content. Earlier this month Facebook also rolled out 360 Photos.
While viewing 360-degree videos, users will also be able to see others reactions float on their screen as well.
To react to a post, the Gear VR viewer simply has to look at the Like button for a few seconds for the Reaction list to pop up, similarly to how web users hover with their mouse to enable this feature for the web. Support for Facebook 360 Photos was previously added to the Oculus platform back in May. To enjoy this latest update all you need to do is, update your Oculus Video app on Samsung Gear VR and make sure it is connected to your Facebook account.
After the introduction of Facebook 360-degree camera to take 360-degree video and photos, the company has been steady at work to increase the various components to make them more social and streamlined.
