Sprint takes on competition with new Family Share Packs
Today’s deal comes from Sprint, and it will save families a ton of money, but there’s a catch: You can’t be a current Sprint customer.
Another important factor to keep in mind is T-Mobile’s Music Freedom initiative, which stops certain music streaming services from counting against your monthly data limits. This plan will offer users 10GB of shared data for up to a maximum of four lines, as well as unlimited talk time and text messages.
Sprint has seen fit that the mobile market needs another family plan, and so the Now Network has debuted a brand new Family Share Pack to compete with the other major wireless carriers.
Earlier this month, T-Mobile reported that it had added 760,000 mainstream phone subscribers in the second quarter, compared with AT&T Inc.’s loss of more than 300,000. T-Mobile’s new plans, however, offer customers 10GB for each line on the account, while Sprint’s 10GB for 4 lines would split the data to 2.5GB per line per month. T-Mobile would cost the same with unlimited data, but the speed is throttled after 1GB.
Sprint’s promo starts on Friday, July 31, and is a limited-period offer. For families stuck with another carrier’s plan, Sprint said it will pay off the old phone and wireless contract so they can switch. If you’re an existing Sprint customer, don’t even bother trying to get access to the goods (this restriction reminds me of those old Ally bank commercials). That has allowed it to add customers in its fight for subscribers with rival Sprint Corp. and the two largest U.S. carriers, Verizon Communications Inc. and AT&T Inc.
