Microsoft tweaks activation rules for the Windows 10 Anniversary Update
Adding another platform to the mix, Roku has launched an app for Windows 10 laptops and tablets.
The first is that the Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP) has been updated to version v1.
“This list includes a limited set of Windows Phone 8.1 devices and does not include some devices that are now running Windows 10 Mobile in the Windows 10 Mobile Insider program”.
With Windows 10, Microsoft has completely changed things with a so-called “Action Centre”. Windows 10 specific Universal apps have been designed in a way to seamlessly scale up and down depending on available real estate, although there number is still far from ideal.

The biggest one is that Windows 10 fixes most of Windows 8s issues. These apps behave exactly as you would have expected their Win32 variants to work, so you’re not receiving a watered-down experience.
Insider Preview Build 14291 came eight days earlier with support for extensions, plus the ability to pin tabs in Microsoft Edge.
Also, you’ll want to make sure that all of your peripheral devices (printers, etc.) have device drivers that are compatible with Windows 10 before you do the upgrade.
Yes. Friday, July 29, 2016, is the last day Microsoft says the free upgrade from Windows 7 or 8 to Windows 10 is available. Microsoft’s commitment to pushing out Windows 10 Mobile to existing devices hasn’t exactly been reliable nor reassuring.
We are expecting a few more Preview Build releases in the next few weeks as the Windows 10 Insider program winds down. Another handy feature is having Adobe flash and Adobe Reader built into the Edge browser.
Separately, a free application called Never10 is created to run in the background and block attempts to prompt you to update to Windows 10.
How do you think Microsoft can finally fix its phone platform, or do you believe they have it correct by concentrating more on business users?
“Cortana works a lot like Google now”, YouTube user Austin Evans reports on Cortana and whether users should upgrade with the Windows 10 download. “Were fully behind it. Were not abandoning the phone”, he said. That means, one can dismiss the notification from any device and the changes will be reflected on other devices as well.
I’ll have more details after I get the chance to test this feature more fully. And in some cases, consumers’ PCs are being upgraded to Windows 10 against their wishes.
