Benghazi Committee Head Trey Gowdy Wont Say Hillary Lied
The most salient conclusion of the report, that the USA failed to adequately protect Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three others who were killed in a terrorist attack four years ago, was known about a half-dozen investigations, $7 million in wasted tax dollars and at least three years ago.
Two other Republicans on the panel, Jim Jordan of OH and Mike Pompeo of Kansas, released their own “additional views”, saying then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton “paid special attention to Libya”, but that she “missed her last, clear chance to protect her people”. “Secretary Clinton’s failure to adequately address these issues during her tenure at the State Department is a glaring indictment of her leadership and the way in which she lied to grieving families one thing about the facts that night, while privately admitting the true nature of the terrorist attack is truly appalling”.
Clinton campaign spokesman Brian Fallon blasted the committee in an overnight tweet. USA military forces didn’t reach Benghazi until 2 p.m. the day after the attack.
In the days immediately after the shocking assault, which happened on the 11th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks, some U.S. officials wrongly implied it had sprung out of a protest against an anti-Muslim YouTube video. Trey Gowdy, the select committee’s chair and others will be crowing about for weeks – is mostly built on an interpretation of evidence. She called it “code for saying you want to go back to what it used to be.That is not who we are as Americans”.
“The report contains a significant amount of new information about what happened before, during, and after the terrorist attack that left four of our fellow citizens dead”, said House Speaker Paul Ryan.
“Nothing could have reached Benghazi because nothing was ever headed to Benghazi”, Gowdy stated. “Not a single wheel of a single USA military asset had even turned toward Libya”.
The report being released Tuesday includes testimony from senior State Department and intelligence officials along with lower-ranking diplomats and diplomatic security agents.

Further, the Democrats said the panel led by Gowdy “squandered millions of taxpayer dollars in a partisan effort to attack a presidential candidate”. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., gestures during a TV news interview with MSNBC, on Capitol Hill in Washington, Tuesday, June 28, 2016, to discuss the release of his final report on the 2012 att. Jim Jordan, Ohio, and Mike Pompeo, Kan. – issued a more harshly worded supplement to the full report, however, and the full panel won’t vote on the report until July 8. Clinton and Under Secretary Patrick Kennedy should have realized that, according to the report. “She missed the last, clear chance to protect her people”. The statement added: “Republicans promised a process and report that was fair and bipartisan, but this is exactly the opposite”.
House Intelligence Committee, bipartisan, November 2014: USA diplomatic facility in Benghazi was insufficiently protected.
Congressional Republicans on Tuesday accused the Obama administration and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton of failing to protect U.S. diplomats in the 2012 Benghazi, Libya, attack that killed four Americans. US intelligence received no advance warning of attacks. Democrats say the panel’s primary goal is to undermine Hillary Clinton’s presidential bid.
“And what do we have to show for it?” Four Americans were killed, including Chris Stevens, the USA ambassador to Libya who was visiting from Tripoli at the time.
