Two music festivals happened in Sweden this weekend.
Police press spokesman Thomas Agnevik, who was present at the Bråvalla festival, says more needs to be done to prevent such crimes from occurring. Swedish police told the media that they are invest…
She said: “They were then threatened by the boys who said “you will die, b***h”. The mother of the 15-year-old girl told the paper several other events of “sexual harassment” could have been avoided if the bouncers present at the even had done their jobs properly.
Up to 24 reports of alleged assaults took place during the festival, known as Putte I Parken festival in Swedish, with another 11 reported afterwards, according to Breitbart. The young woman said: “A guy ran his hand between the legs of one of my friends, and when she went to a bouncer, she was asked if she was drunk”. Police identified seven young men they wanted to question.
Mumford and Sons are speaking out after reports that numerous attendees were sexually assaulted at Sweden’s Bravalla Festival over the weekend.
After hearing about these reports, Mumford and Sons, who performed at the festival, announced that they would boycott Bravalla until police and organizers worked to improve security there.
“We are in the process of reviewing [the sexual assault laws]”, said Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Lofven in a speech at a political seminar.
Swedish Police have said the descriptions of attackers were “diverse” but that all were young males. When bloggers and a conservative website, Infowars, reported on the controversy June 19 the local media accused them of planting a “false report” when most of the pertinent facts turned out to be true, that it was Muslim refugees who were the suspects and that a 5-year-old girl was sexually assaulted, possibly raped.
Ms Larsson said she was anxious for younger victims of sexual assault as they may not be able to cope with the incident.
The police have been examining seven suspects, six of them foreigners, whose ages range from under 18 to 35, Inspector Nystrom said; no arrests have been made. “The number of such cases has increased slightly since past year, but I’m really not sure if this is a common problem at festivals”.
