Selena to posthumously receive star on Hollywood Walk of Fame
LL Cool J, Adam Levine and Bruno Mars were just some of 2016’s class. Mariah Carey also famously notched her star a year ago.
Mexican-American music legend Selena will be posthumously honoured with a star Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2017.
Selena Quintanilla-Pérez, known as the Queen of Tejano music, captivated fans all over the world with her voice in the 90s.
New Edition is having a great year; not only will their BET biopic air in 2017, but they will also receive a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame!
On March 31, 1995, Selena’s former fan club president Yolanda Saldivar fatally shot Selena at a Days Inn motel in Corpus Christi. “She’s getting her star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame!”.
Over the course of her career, Caesar recorded over 40 albums, including “No Charge“, “Hold My Mule”, “Jesus I Love Calling Your Name”, “I Remember Mama” and “He’s Working It Out For You”.
Also joining the star walk next year are Eva Longoria, John Legend, Ice Cube, and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Additional recording industry honorees include music executive CLARENCE AVANT and the late movie and TV composer JERRY GOLDSMITH. Now there are 2,583 stars dotted along the Walk of Fame since its establishment in 1960.
The Quintanilla family shared the good news on Selena’s Facebook fan page Tuesday evening, to which many fans responded: “It’s about time!”
