Brock Lesnar vs. Mark Hunt Should Determine the No. 1 Contender

Recently, WWE announced that Lesnar would be their cover star of their WWE2K17 video game, surprisingly taking the spot over such notable favorites like Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, and even current WWE Champion, Dean Ambrose.

The UFC 200 card was already stacked with the UFC’s premier talent, and now it has gained mainstream appeal with the addition of Lesnar from the WWE. It’s well documented that his battle with diverticulitis almost cost the WWE star his life, and certainly hindered his efforts in training camp, also potentially in his last few fights too. This was one of the few more light-hearted moments of the conference call where Lesnar was no doubt the star.

“He’s getting tested now, so I think that’s the main thing”, Hunt said. Lesnar is now a top draw for the pro wrestling company and has agreed to appear at SummerSlam on August 21. Whether or not that is still a possibility now that he is fighting at UFC 200 next weekend remains to be seen.

The “Mayor of Suplex City” tried his luck at the NFL Career as well as MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) and left his mark at UFC. “I’ve been here a couple of weeks now and I’m looking forward to finishing training and going to work”. “Lesnar had an interesting response to these allegations by saying, “I have been dealing with that my entire life”, he said”.

Lesnar hasn’t fought in MMA for four and a half years and prior to that lost his last two fights very convincingly via first round TKOs to Cain Velasquez and Alistair Overeem.

Lesnar joked that the pro-wrestling giant needed to be convinced to let him fight – with an arm-wrestling competition. I don’t think he should be allowed to get a four-month exemption otherwise everyone else should.

“Really no, I [considered it] for awhile, and really I was standing there one day on my property [in Canada] and just thought, ‘It’s time, ‘” he said.

“I find it amusing”, Lesnar said.

“I’m a competitor and I’ll be a competitor probably in a nursing home, racing my wheelchair around”.

The result of this fight will likely have little bearing on future UFC Heavyweight rankings, and is being described as a “one off” return for Lesnar.

According to the report, the WWE needs to give Lesnar a fighter who is capable of matching his strength and size, someone who looks like he can handle a match with an icon such as Lesnar.
