Major rescue operation launched for schoolchildren lost in Brecon Beacons
A group of schoolchildren rescued from the Brecon Beacons during a Duke of Edinburgh exercise were never missing, their headmaster has said.
Since then, three mountain rescue teams and the police have been searching tirelessly for the missing children.
The Lesedi la Rona diamond was unearthed in Botswana in November and is nearly the size of a tennis ball, the BBC reported.
The Welsh Ambulance Service said that 26 patients were taken to Ystradgynlais Community Hospital for a precautionary check-up but none of their injuries are believed to be serious.
The search operation was led by the Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team and assisted by a UK Coastguard helicopter.
An alarm was raised at 1pm after the teens failed to meet up with an instructor.
Two of the children are believed to be suffering from hypothermia.
He said two members of staff reached the group within 90 minutes and the mountain rescue team led them off the hill.
The Coastguard helicopter from RAF St Athan was also been sent to help. We have 46 pupils over there in total working in small groups and all safe and sound.

Sarah Williams, the local councillor for Abercraf, said the area is popular with groups of school children.
Andy Maglaras, the landlord of the pub where the children were last seen near, said that the rescuers were bringing them back to safety.
