Bioshock: The Collection Announced by 2K
So many places had reported the rumor that it was probably already taken as a confirmation.
The leaks weren’t wrong: All three BioShock games are coming back and souped-up for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in a $59.99 bundle titled BioShock: The Collection. BioShock 2 experienced a generally positive reception, and most critics placed it in the 8/10 range. The original BioShock is nearly ten years old, after all.
For those PC players who already own Bioshock and/or Bioshock 2, 2K will be upgrading the titles to their new remastered forms for free. In the same vein, you’ll get to walk through a virtual museum that houses concept art for characters and concepts that didn’t make the cut.
Bioshock The Collection is expected to have the first two games, as well as Bioshock Infinite. The publisher also created a page for the collection, titled Bioshock The Collection, but the page was pulled by 2K afterwards.
The set also comes packed in with bonus features, like a “never-before-seen” video series interviewing series director Ken “both sides are bad” Levine. Use expanded combat abilities with the experimental Ion Laser and chaotic Gravity Well Plasmid, unique to Minerva’s Den, as you face off against the Lancer Big Daddy.
The collection will debut in North America on September 13, before releasing worldwide on September 16.
The remastered edition includes a lot of new puzzles and challenged rooms where they can challenge the dreaded Big Daddies and other scary opponents such as the splicers.
In what all but confirms that BioShock is getting remastered real soon, an update to the 2K website prematurely revealed a handful of screens for the collection. And achievements, of course.
