Cincinnati Reds center fielder Billy Hamilton was placed on the concussion protocol program after being struck in the face during Wednesday night’s game against the Chicago Cubs.
With two runners aboard in the first inning, Anthony Rizzo hit a liner to left-center field.
The Chicago Cubs opened the floodgates fairly early on Wednesday against the Cincinnati Reds, scoring three runs in the first inning before recording an out.
Center fielder Billy Hamilton, who almost collided with Duvall on the play, was struck on the left side of his face by the ball and had to leave the game.

Reds: Cody Reed (0-1, 6.75) makes his third career start.
