90-Year-Old Burlesque Performer Dances Better Than You
The 90-year-old had everyone on their feet, cheering for her sultry performance. For her America’s Got Talent audition she did a little strip tease…with tassels and all.
When Nick Cannon escorted 90-year-old Dorothy Williams to the stage, I said to myself: Oh Lord, what is this old woman going to do, recite poetry or lead the audience in a prayer?
And after 90 years, the aspiring burlesque dancer got the star moment she had been dreaming of. But she never gave up her passion for dancing, she said. Check out her audition in the video above.
It wasn’t long after Williams announced she would “dance” for the judges, that her hips came out and the boa started shakin’.
Williams received a standing ovation from Simon Cowell and Heidi Klum and from the audience. He felt Dorothy Williams deserved a spot in the live shows on America’s Got Talent Season 11, so he hit that Golden Buzzer for her, but was she worth it? He shared that backstage they had spoken and she told him her dream was to be a star and he wanted people to know a star had been born on that stage.
Dorothy William’s performance on “America’s Got Talent” earned her a golden buzzer which put her through to the live performance rounds. Someone who would inspire host Nick Cannon to break protocol and hit the automatically-advancing Golden Buzzer, something he’s not allowed to do.
