And now, reports have emerged that Jonathan Aris, 44, will be seen in the upcoming “Star Wars: Rogue One”, the first movie of the “Anthology” series.

Jonathan Aris has previously had notable appearances in movies like the 2009 hit “Gulliver’s Travels“, and “Race” and “The Martian” in 2014.

Jonathan Aris reportedly has confirmed being a cast member in “Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One” and revealed the name of his character in his resume.

The page lists the role in the film as a character called Senator Jebel.

The word is a Sherlock actor is appearing in the Star Wars movie, and before you start assuming it is Benedict Cumberbatch, think again because it isn’t.

Gareth Edwards is directing the franchise’s next side-project and has recruited Sam Claflin, Felicity Jones, Diego Luna and Forest Whitaker for the cast.

There has been no official announcement as of yet, so we’re obligated to keep this within the realm of rumour for now (sound the klaxon!) but the Spotlight site, an official source for actors’ bios, isn’t known for running specious information.

Rogue One is set between the films Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV: A New Hope, during the Age of the Empire. The film is the story of the Rebel efforts to steal the plans for the original Death Star, helping them pinpoint weaknesses in the weapon’s structure.

With the movie filming to begin shortly, we have not long to wait for the confirmation of Aris’ role.
