Red Sox ’embarrassed’ in 21-2 loss to Angels

Los Angeles garnered an astounding 22 hits off of a much-maligned Boston arsenal, with designated hitter Albert Pujols recording two of those base knocks to accompany his five RBI and two runs, center fielder Mike Trout going 2-for-5 with three runs, and second baseman Johnny Giavotella faring 2-for-6 with a pair of runs scored.

During the 11-run seventh, Pujols had a three-run double, Cron a two-run homer and Perez added a two-run shot, which brought mock cheers from the fans.
The Los Angeles Angels 21 runs was the first time they topped 20 runs since 2004, and the sixth time in franchise history.
Angels: 3B Escobar played his second straight game after missing seven in a row because of a tender left knee. The Red Sox bullpen was a disaster and contributed four errors to the Angels cause.Outfielder Ryan LaMarre, a left-hander, pitched the ninth inning for the Red Sox. He batted leadoff and went 1 for 4 before being lifted for a pinch runner.
At least Matt Shoemaker didn’t have to stomach another hard-luck loss.
This was not the Cobbler of late, but he’s just the latest in a long line of Angels pitchers that are serving up some runs; let’s just be thankful this has been an exception for Shoemaker recently, not the rule.and let’s hope it stays that way., too. Boston is also 7-0 in Porcello’s last home starts, and 4-1 in Porcello’s last five starts overall.
