Storm threat returning tonight, risk of severe storms continues
The National Weather Service said the thunderstorms “will be capable of producing very heavy rain of up to 2 inches in a short period of time”.
The temperature was expected to climb to 94 degrees Thursday, but depending on how fast the storm clears out, Walsh said it could end up be cooler than the forecast predicts.
The Storm Prediction Center has far eastern North Dakota in the Marginal risk and parts of Minnesota in the slight risk for severe weather.
Showers and thunderstorms will return to southern Wisconsin later Thursday, and there is a chance that some of the thunderstorms may be severe. Strong showers and t-storms will be possible through the early afternoon of Wednesday, and then we continue the day-to-day storms until we get through the weekend. The storms that fire off could be strong to severe with isolated tornadoes, strong damaging winds, and large hail all being threats. We will keep you up to date should that solution change.
With high levels of humidity and warming expected again on Friday new storms are likely by afternoon and evening. A portion of IN is once again under a “slight risk” for severe storms per the Storm Prediction Center.
