Let Aamir, Salman wrestle, will stick to romance, says Shah Rukh
Salman Khan’s much awaited Sultan is out with its first day collection and the figures are not very much inspiring.
Salman’s sports drama “Sultan” and Shahrukh Khan’s dark thriller “Raees” were set to lock horns at the box-office this Eid, but this was averted as the release of “Raees” was pushed to next year after Shah Rukh suffered some injuries. “It’s a very good film”, he added. The Ali Abbas Zafar directorial minted over Rs 35 crore on its opening day. Expectations from the film were high since the Dabangg actor has delivered super hits on the occasion of Eid since Wanted (2009).
Bilkulonline.com, Mumbai, July 8: Shahrukh Khan says he will let his contemporaries, Aamir and Salman Khan, handle wrestling while he will stick with his romantic genre.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh said the film has earned over Rs 40 crore on Wednesday, which was day one of release. Instead, the film opened with the second highest earnings in the year so far. “I really liked it. We are at a stage where we respect each other for what we have done”. “The advance bookings this huge is not seen even in movies like Bajirao Mastani and Fan“. “It can still cross Rs 150 crore during the weekend itself”.
Aamir Khan made a decision to catch a show of Sultan. The story follows the now old and out of shape wrestler’s journey to his last fight for glory and redemption.
Salman plays a wrestler in Sultan, just as Aamir plays real life wrestler Mahavir Phogat in December’s Dangal. Anushka Sharma will feature in Imtiaz’s movie. Anushka plays his love interest while Randeep Hooda and Amit Sadh back them up in pivotal roles.
