After truck hits bridge, debris strikes car, killing child
A crash led to a partial bridge collapse Thursday in Sealy that killed a 12-year-old girl and left her mother injured.
Witnesses told KHOU-TV that a large truck hit the U.S. Highway 90 bridge over State Highway 36 in Sealy just before 10 a.m., causing the collapse.

A Texas Department of Transportation engineer is en route, Noble said, and will evaluate the severity of the damage to the bridge to determine if it’s salvageable.
A Texas Disposal Systems garbage truck was travelling southbound on Hwy 36 with its boom raised.
That child is now being taken care of by family members. “TxDOT and DPS are at the scene and the investigation is underway”.
The Austin County Sheriff’s Office is also investigating. “We will be in communication with the community and public as relevant information becomes available”.
