Corker withdraws his name as possible Trump running mate
Clinton’s “College Compact”, which aims to create a more affordable path to higher education for all students, doesn’t quite adopt the Vermont senator’s goal of free higher education across the board, but it definitely makes moves in that direction.
“The plan will be phased in over five years, but families earning $85,000 or less will immediately be able to attend an in-state college or university without paying any tuition”, reads an announcement on Clinton’s website.
A centerpiece of Clinton’s plan is an executive order that would give federal student loan borrowers a three-month break from making payments.
“I want to take this opportunity to applaud Secretary Clinton for the very bold initiative she has brought forth for the finance of public education”, Sanders said outside of his campaign office near Capitol Hill, Politico reported. “The final product is a result of the work of both campaigns”.
Democrats have struggled to unify the party as Clinton all but secured the party’s nomination, but Sanders has continued his renegade campaign.
The news of a possible endorsement next week comes on the heels of his reportedly getting a lukewarm reception by House Democrats this morning, some of whom pressed him about when he would endorse Clinton.
Four of Atlantic City’s casinos have closed in recent years amid a growing number of gambling halls in neighboring states.
In Atlantic City on Wednesday, Clinton greeted striking workers at the Trump Taj Mahal, another property previously owned by Trump.

Gingrich appeared far more comfortable onstage Wednesday night in Cincinnati, delivering an eight-minute introduction of Trump and then beaming offstage when the presumptive nominee pledged that, if he was elected, “Newt Gingrich would have a role in the government in one form or another”. “Pols made big mistakes, now many bankruptcies”, he wrote. “And no one, especially not Crooked Hillary Clinton, will do more for the economy than I will”.
Trump, however, has defended his handling of his business in Atlantic City, saying he was very successful there and employed thousands of workers.

Separately, Clinton won praise from her Democratic primary rival Bernie Sanders for her new college-affordability plan, which proposes eliminating public, in-state tuition for students whose families make less than $125,000.
