Clinton, Sanders discussing endorsement event

Part of the holdup, sources say, has been the campaigns’ involvement in negotiating with the Democratic National Committee over the party’s official platform, which is expected to be finalized this weekend.

If Clinton embraces platform language condemning the TPP, it would please unions while causing difficulties for Obama, one of her most enthusiastic supporters.
Clinton on Wednesday offered a modified proposal to make college more affordable that won Sanders’s endorsement and will appeal to the young voters that overwhelmingly supported his primary campaign. “I hope we can reach an agreement on them sooner rather than later”. “Hillary Clinton and her campaign have handled him very well”.
Stein, a 66-year-old physician, has a platform that calls for a Power to the People Plan, which includes a Green New Deal, an improved Medicare-for-all national healthcare system, and the abolition of student debt.
Clinton said the plan was unworkable and that it didn’t make sense for tax dollars to go toward the tuition of students who can afford to pay, often citing Trump’s children and grandchildren as examples.
Sanders trounced Clinton in the New Hampshire primary, and holding the event in the Granite State would put the two rivals in a fall battleground state where Clinton will compete against Republican Donald Trump.
Sanders supporters and people close to the campaign have said quietly that if the progressive superstar officially endorses her too early, it could frustrate or dishearten some of his fans on the left who are still uneasy about backing her. The campaign didn’t immediately provide further details on how the expanded plan would be funded.
The first year the plan is implemented, families making up to $85,000 a year would get free tuition. Then that family income threshold will increase by $10,000 each year until it hits $125,000.

Loan servicers typically earn monthly fees by loan status, and would likely continue to collect money through borrowers’ “in-school” status, even if students aren’t paying under Clinton’s plan.
