Cruz to speak at GOP convention
Sen. Ben Sasse and presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump came face to face in Washington Thursday without incident.
At that point, other Republican politicians would be emboldened to put themselves forward as alternatives to Trump, delegates would be more free under the rules to vote for a wider range of options and all hell would break loose on the floor of Quicken Loans Arena as the convention became open and contested. “Our members were grateful to hear about his general election plans and his desire to unify the party in advance of a critical election this November”, Ryan said in a statement after the meeting.
“I’m not part of the Never Trump movement”, Flake replied.
U.S. Rep. Steve Womack found the meeting “informative”, said his spokesman, Claire Burghoff.
First, he addressed a recent tweet he sent where he vowed to support the party’s presidential nominee.
“I’ll let you know how I feel about it after it happens”, Trump told The New York Times in a story published Thursday while flashing what the newspaper described as a “mischievous smile”.

Responding to Trump’s prediction that he’d win Democratic-leaning IL in November, Kirk had his own prediction: “Alan Keyes, 28 percent, I think is what he’s heading toward”.
And as Indiana’s Republican voters headed to the polls, Trump again turned to the personal, accusing Cruz’s father of being involved in the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.
