Game of Thrones app from HC UK
The chasm between Game of Thrones fans who have read the books and those who have just watched the TV is about to get a little smaller. Fans program their progress in both the literary and televisual versions of the epic story into the app, and are shown accordingly spoiler-free selections. The extracts are short (only supposed to take between five and 25 minutes to read) and, as indicated by a spokesperson from HarperCollins (via United Kingdom site the Bookseller). Season 5 of the HBO series covered the events of A Dance with Dragons, the latest published book in the series.
It’s free to download and Martin and fans of the series have had input into its workings so you can be sure it’s pretty comprehensive. It’s not exactly the same as reading the books, though it might come in handy for comparing the two mediums without accidentally gleaming additional spoilers.
The app, which is called Game of Thrones: Get Into the Books, highlights 40 “extracts”: key moments you find in the books, explore iconic moments by themes.
This previous June, the collection Game of Thrones reached an essential milestone.
