Nintendo readying N-Box subscription service similar to Loot Crate
The “N-Box” will include toys, clothes and other items inspired by or branded with Nintendo’s many iconic characters.
It looks set to be the next in an ever-expanding range of subscription box services, such as American service Loot Crate – which has itself offered an Amiibo-specific box in the past. The boxes, MCV writes, will be available in a three, six or one-year plan.
According to a rumor on MCV, Nintendo is planning to launch its own Loot Crate competitor on its online store in the coming days.
At the time, the company promised ‘a new customer loyalty programme, ‘ but what has instead emerged as its closest replacement is a subscription service modelled on retailer Zavvi’s Z-Box programme.
As someone who’s been apprehensive about Lootcrate due to some of its themes focusing on things I don’t really like, the idea of having a Nintendo themed box every month is quite appealing.
Nintendo was not able to comment on the story.
