Gunfire Hits San Antonio Police HQ, Suspect Being Sought
A KSAT Photojournalist was rolling when police found at least two of the shell casing.
The shots were fired just before 10 p.m. Saturday.
San Antonio Police Chief William McManus said police did find several shell casings in an alley near the old Public Safety Headquarters and a restaurant.
The search yielded no suspects or odd items, Dallas police said. Authorities are investigating reports of a suspect seen fleeing from the alley, according to CNN.
Police say several officers inside the department heard the gunshots hitting the building yesterday evening.
Police vehicles have cordoned off the area as the investigation continues.
Investigators closed several nearby roads and taped a off a large in front of headquarters.
Officials said Johnson expressed anger over the shootings by police, and said he wanted to “kill white people, especially white officers”.
Though no casualties have been reported in San Antonio, the climate of fear surrounding police departments and law enforcement personnel nationally has only heightened. Police are looking for a Hispanic man believed seen running from the area in an orange shirt and navy blue trousers.
The latest incident comes days after five police officers were killed in Dallas during a protest against the recent police shootings of African-American men.
It’s unclear how many bullets were fired at the San Antonio Police headquarters Saturday.
