Zombi Coming to PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in August
There have been rumors of Ubisoft porting the excellent Wii U launch title ZombiU to other platforms for a while, but now it’s official: Zombi (no more u!) arrives digitally on August 18. Test your will to survive, but beware: death is permanent, and one wrong move can cause you to lose everything.
By the middle of 2013, those third-party game publishers bellowed loudly about why they had jumped ship-and loudest of all was Ubisoft, whose games Rayman Legends and ZombiU relied pretty heavily on the system’s touchscreen GamePad. If you have surround sound, the awesome sound mix from the original still stands and greatly helps immersion. It looks like the game will be debuting on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC under the new name, Zombi. The field of view has been expanded and can be adjusted “a little”, and a pair of new melee weapons, the shovel and the nail bat, have been added. I’m wondering if this is going to feel like a different game without that controller. “Rummaging in the backpack still doesn’t pause the game”.
Zombi doesn’t seem to have any significant upgrades over the Wii U version, from what we can ascertain from the trailer. “We’ve added a dedicated button to access the backpack, which lets players see their full inventory and assign shortcut keys”.
However, since not all PC, PS4, and Xbox One owners will have the technology to pull this off, it’s more likely that the GamePad features have been streamlined into in-game menus and the like.
ZOMBI is out soon.
