Juventus midfielder intent on Manchester United move
Manchester United are working on the paperwork over a record £106m deal to sign Paul Pogba after the midfielder told Juventus he wanted to return to Old Trafford, according to Richard Keys.
Stan Collymore insists that Manchester United would be better off signing N’Golo Kante and Dimitri Payet instead of £100m-rated Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba. The Red Devils have also offered a £65m to the player, with a £250,000 basic salary per week.
The two sides are the only clubs who have been properly linked with Pogba and Gazetta has suggested that Madrid will move to formalise an official bid after Euro 2016.
Mundo Deportivo’s report also says that last summer Madrid again had the opportunity to sign Pogba when director Jose Angel Sanchezreached an agreement with the 23-year-old’s agent Mino Raiola. “When he left United every player was saying, ‘What the hell is going on?’ But he came to a decision to leave and sometimes these things happen in football”.
I don’t think he showed us any respect at all, to be honest.
Bringing him back to England would be an expensive exercise for United, but Mourinho could be tempted to spend around $130 million for Pogba as he tries to reshuffle the under-performing United squad.
United have already signed three players since Mourinho was appointed in May – former Sweden striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Armenia playmaker Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Ivory Coast defender Eric Bailly. The Frenchman’s return to Manchester United however looks imminent.
Mourinho first met Faria at Barcelona before he worked as Mourinho’s fitness coach during his time in charge of Uniao de Leiria in Portugal and followed him to Chelsea (twice), Inter Milan and Real Madrid.
