Steelers back Le’Veon Bell glad suspension reduced
Now, with news of his reduced suspension and reports out of camp that Bell is looking “noticeably explosive” and in the “best shape of his life” from ESPN NFL writer Jeremy Fowler, Bell should be flying off the board within the first three picks of most fantasy drafts.
Le’Veon Bell could be playing ball sooner rather than later. The original suspension was three games, but the NFL and NFLPA negotiated an agreement to reduce his suspension to just two games.
Bell and Blount were arrested August. 20, 2014 after a motorcycle officer in Ross Township, a suburb just north of Pittsburgh, smelled marijuana coming from a vehicle Bell was driving hours before a team flight to a preseason game in Philadelphia.
Bell, 23, was placed on 15 months probation and was placed in an Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition program.
“I want to make sure I do everything in my power to be a better teammate and player”, Bell said on the first day of Steelers training camp.
According to oddsmakers at GTBets, the Steelers are now listed with 22/1 odds to win the Super Bowl this upcoming season.
But what about the fact that we KNOW he will miss at least two games (suspension) and maybe more (injuries)? “I think the beauty of this is that, though it’s a dream I never could have had, now it’s a dream other girls can grow up and have”. Only missing two games does make things a bit easier and Bell will likely get going a little earlier than he would have if the suspension was not reduced at all. That money puts him outside the top-10 among wide receivers in annual payout, fueling offseason speculation that he wanted to leverage a new deal after a league-high 3,197 yards the last two years.
In the first game of the season, the Steelers and the Patriots will be missing key players.
The Steelers will need to start strong if they plan to have a successful campaign in 2015, and nothing yet has shown they aren’t capable of doing so.
Ryan Williams, one of the possible replacements for NFL rushing champion DeMarco Murray, has been released by the Cowboys.
