Samsung’s Next Big Galaxy Phone Is Coming Out Soon
The Galaxy Note 7 would be €50 more than the Galaxy S7 Edge, which is also a phablet with a 5.5-inch display.
Samsung’s website stated the Galaxy S7 Active, which is sold in the U.S. but is not available in the United Kingdom, is IP68-certified.
According to a report published by non-profit rating group Consumer Reports, the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active, which has just been released in the United States exclusively at AT&T for a staggering price of $795, failed the tests that were conducted by the agency. So Consumer Reports submerged a different S7 Active in a pressurized tank to simulate five feet of water.
An influx of rumors and alleged specs on the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 have surfaced with the reportedly nearing release of the phablet. Ip68 certification is generally certification provided to devices that can have resistance to immersion in water. The front-facing camera and rear panel were also filled with tiny bubbles and both camera lenses displayed moisture.
The new Snapdragon 821, which is an upgraded version of the Snapdragon 820 found inside some variants of the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 edge, is said to deliver a 10 percent performance increase over the 820. Consumer Reports is refusing to recommend it because the water resistant claim is incorrect. “We also noticed water in the slot holding the SIM card”.
Are you a smartphone repairer? However, customers looking for waterproof phones might be better off by sticking with the more basic S7 and S7 Active handsets.
Recently, a leaked image of the purported Samsung Galaxy Note 7 has surfaced, revealing the look of the upcoming handset. Those conducting the test were initially of the conception that the device that they had in possession for the testing might be a defective piece.
The company says it is investigating the matter. That older phone passed Consumer Reports’ dunk test previous year and is still among its recommended phones.
