Florida woman falls to death at Grand Canyon
On Friday, hikers on the South Kaibab Trail called for help, saying a woman fell from Ooh Aah Point. – A Florida woman has died after falling from a Grand Canyon trail. “That view tho [sic]”. “Those last two seconds where everyone changed are so minute in comparison to all the memories I have with her”.
One of her friends, who was on the trail with her, said that she just lost her footing while letting someone go by her and fell backwards.
She was 35 years old.
Jessica Roman, a friend of Burns who was with her at the time of her death, described the incident to Orlando news station WESH on Monday night. “She never wanted to be looked up to – it was genuine kindness, and absolute nurturing of a community she grew, form a soul that only knew love”.
Burns has worked for Yelp in a variety of positions since 2009. “We are deeply saddened by the death of Colleen Burns, a cherished Yelp colleagues and friend”.
A Orlando Yelp Twitter account identified Burns as the Yelp Orlando Community Manager. “We are heartbroken but thankful to have been positively shaped by her passion and joy for life”, the company statement read, according to WESH.
The Coconino County Medical Examiner’s office has ruled the cause of death for Colleen Burns as an accident. Some of her friends shared their condolences on social media.
Under a photo of himself posing with the tragic fan, he writes: “Colleen showed up in my life before the tidal wave of support had hit”.
