Amber Alert Issued For Missing Calgary Girl, 5
Calgary police gave an update on an Amber Alert issued after a woman was found dead and her five-year-old daughter missing, saying her estranged husband is cooperating with the investigation and that they haven’t ruled out any suspects.
Taliyah Leigh Marsman is described as mixed-race with a slim build, brown curly hair and brown eyes.
No description of her clothing has been released.
“Please return her. Drop her off at an RCMP station, a Calgary Police Service station, a grocery store, gas station – wherever you want”, Hamilton said through tears as friends and family of his niece, Sara Baillie, surrounded him.
Calgary Police are also not ruling out the option that Marsman was dropped off with someone who has yet to realize the girl is the subject of an Amber Alert. So they went to her home, a basement suite in a quiet northwest neighbourhood, on Monday evening to check on her.
Insp. Don Coleman says police found the mother’s dead body after family members became concerned when she did not show up for work Monday.
Police had been looking for a vehicle of interest in connection with the case which they described as a white, four-door, 2016 Ford Fusion.
Her death is considered suspicious.
Coleman said family members last saw the girl Sunday morning.
He said the two were “inseparable” and Taliyah “worshipped” her mother. That vehicle was located in the community of Panorama Hills – not far from the home – but the girl is still missing. “I hope that little girl is ok”, said Tania.
