Taylor Swift is top-earning celebrity
Beyonce released her number one hit, Lemonade, and has played 19 shows in the year-to-June.
The “Shake It Off” singer also outpaced rival Katy Perry who past year took in more than $135 million as opposed to Swift´s $80 million, according to Forbes magazine´s annual list of 100 highest-paid celebrities.
Boxer Floyd Mayweather, though, was Forbes’ top paid celebrity a year ago, nabbing $300 million on the 2015 list for his “fight of the century” with Manny Pacquiao. She also earned big bucks from her deals with hotshot brands like Apple, Diet Coke, and Keds. Kardashian made $51 million this past year, putting her at No. 42 on Forbes’ Celebrity 100 list.
The country-turned-pop star, Taylor Swift, whose last album, 1989, has sold more than 5m units in the USA alone, raked in $170m from June 2015 to June 2016. One Direction fell just below Swift at number two with $110 million in earnings (though that’s split among all members, which kind of feels like cheating).
After arriving in Queensland last week with hunky British beau Tom Hiddleston, Swift took some time to visit young patients at the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital in Brisbane on Tuesday.
The 26-year-old singer is now in the country while Hiddleston starts filming Thor: Ragnarok, and on Tuesday, she took a solo trip to Lady Cliento Children’s Hospital in South Brisbane.
Bey and Jay have made $107.5 million combined, with Bey garnering $54 million and Jay Z a cool $53.5 million in the past year.
She out-earned other famous musicians including Adele (US$80.5 million), Madonna (US$76.5 million), Rihanna (US$75 million) and Bruce Springsteen (US$60.5 million).
Notably, Swift isn’t appearing on the cover of the upcoming Forbes issue.
The rest of the top five list included author James Patterson with $95 million and athlete Cristiano Ronaldo and Dr Phil McGraw both earning $88 million.
