Swift says she co-wrote ex’s latest hit; Harris lashes out
When the song was written, Taylor didn’t want to be the main singer on the track, and it’s reported she even suggested that Rihanna provide the vocals, which explains why she didn’t want to be known as a writer on the track, either. After Calvin Harris accused his ex, Taylor Swift, of trying to ruin Katy Perry, the “Roar” singer’s fans wreaked havoc on T-Swizzle by polluting her Instagram account with snake emojis.
Harris also added that Swift just needed someone new to “bury” like he did with Katy Perry because she’s off tour and has nothing better to do with herself.
Harris accused Swift’s team of trying to make him look bad and urged Taylor to be happy in her new relationship instead of trying to tear her ex-boyfriend down. Replying to the comment, Calvin wrote “She controlled the media and in this situation, I had no idea what was going on”.
The DJ tried to put a bow on his Twitter rant by writing, “Please focus on the positive aspects of YOUR life because you’ve earned a great one” – but maybe do that after you’ve tweeted back, Taylor. As if trying to make his comments sound less harsh, he signed off by writing, “God bless everyone have a attractive day”.
So why is Harris so mad? “I can’t see it happening, though”, he told Seacrest.
Swift did a demo on her iPhone and then sent it to him. Calvin responded, “You know we haven’t even spoken about it”.
Taylor kept the publishing rights under the pseudonym Nils Sjoberg.
Swift got sufficiently annoyed about this that it hastened the couple’s breakup, though Swift has not exercised her option to prevent Harris from performing the song, something Harris has done with a song he made for his ex Rita Ora.
On Wednesday, the truth about the song finally came out. Today, it remains #2 on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic chart and #4 on the Billboard 100 chart. So it’s obviously given Harris’ $140 million net worth a huge boost.
“Nils Sjoberg” lurked unnoticed as a composer in the credits.
The Grammy victor felt disrespected and it became “the breaking point in their relationship”, the source claims. But it’s likely only the latter making his blood boil this week. He was just listed on Forbes’ Highest-Paid Celebrities of 2016.
She reportedly agreed that Rihanna would be a good stand-in to release the song with Harris.
