Sergio Ramos Set To Sign New Real Madrid Contract
Rumors have been swirling around for months surrounding a potential move for star Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos, as well as Valencia’s Argentinian Nicolas Otamendi. The deal also includes a pay rise and handing captaincy to Ramos.
“If Romero has come to Manchester United not to be second choice, fair play to him because David De Gea is the best goalkeeper at the club”, Cole told Kicca.com. “All I know is we scored three goals and I’m very happy”.
Madrid want to sign De Gea, but United insist they will only do a deal with the 10-time European champions if defender Sergio Ramos comes to Old Trafford in return.
Club president Florentino Perez met the player and his agent last weekend to iron out their differences and it seems outlines of a new contract have also been agreed.
Real Madrid have given up their pursuit of De Gea for this season (more on that here).
Was Sergio Ramos serious about leaving Real Madrid?
The World Cup victor had reportedly agreed on personal terms with United, but has since decided to remain in the Spanish capital. “I’ve asked both since then and they’re optimistic”.
With the summer transfer window in full swing, managers are working hard trying to strengthen their squads ahead of next season so we’ll bring you all the news and gossip.
During the said meeting, Perez, Ramos, Ramos’ brother Rene and Manchester United director general Jose Angel Sanchez were able to reconcile their differences, paving the way for a new contract for Ramos, per Mail Online.
With numerous reports suggesting he may be on the brink of the latter, Manchester United may have to turn their attentions elsewhere in their search for a commanding centre-back. I don’t see him in another shirt.
