It’s Pence: Trump announces his VP choice on Twitter
Obama’s remarks seemed to be directed to former House speaker Newt Gingrich, who proposed a loyalty test for American Muslims on Fox News Thursday night.
Donald Trump is set to announce his running mate on Friday and recent reports indicate that he is down to just two names.
Gingrich said that he and Trump had “a great conversation”.
“It was a pick that clearly shows he is pivoting to the general election”, said GOP chairman Reince Priebus, who was in the midst of an interview with The Associated Press when Trump announced his decision. In fact, the selection process appeared on the verge of sliding out of control in the final hours before the announcement, sparking speculation that Trump might be changing his mind.
Gingrich, one of the finalists for the vice presidential spot, said he was “very comfortable” with Trump’s decision and praised Pence as someone who could help unite the party.

In a video posted on his official Facebook page Thursday, Gingrich discussed his mass appeal as compared to Pence’s.

“I suspect sometime tomorrow that Mike and I will both get phone calls, and one of us will be packing our bags to go to NY and the other one will be going to watch it on TV”, he said.
“When I was secretary [of state] I started the first ever worldwide group to deal with global terrorism and to bring everybody to the table”, she told O’Reilly, who has repeatedly called ongoing worldwide terror attacks “a world war scenario”.
“We will not be intimidated”, Clinton said.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations condemned Gingrich’s call to “test” Muslims in the U.S.as well as the truck attack.
