Fox’s Sean Hannity pays Newt Gingrich’s way to interview
Newt Gingrich at a closed-door event in February said Donald Trump was not a “conservative” and that the NY businessman had “has found a formula which is worthy of study”.
During an interview with Fox News Wednesday, the former speaker of the House suggested that the running mate will likely get the verdict this afternoon before Trump’s announcement of the decision Friday at 11 a.m.in NY.
Trump will announce his choice of a running mate at a NY event on Friday at 11 a.m. ET.
After spending much of Thursday in Indianapolis, Pence flew to NY late in the day. Indianapolis television station WTHR posted a video showing Pence arriving at a private airport in New Jersey early Thursday evening.

Gingrich was being considered as a possible running mate by presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.
The Democratic presidential candidate said the United States and France will never let terrorists undermine democratic values.
Other Republicans with knowledge of the process said there had been no calls to Pence or Christie, either.
Pence spent the day in Indianapolis.
But he noted that Trump has also made an effort to get to “know Mike [Pence] and his family better”, as demonstrated by Trump’s decision to have his oldest children and son-in-law attend a meeting at Pence’s house in IN on Wednesday morning.
Should he join forces with Trump, Pence, a deeply conservative former congressman and talk-radio host, could help him unite the disparate blocs within the Republican coalition – especially social conservatives and establishment leaders, who remain skeptical of if not outright hostile to Trump.
Gingrich told attendees that he doesn’t know how Trump would transition from the campaign trail to the White House. Reached by phone later, Gingrich said he had not heard from Trump, but still expected to receive word Thursday afternoon. He faces a Friday deadline to withdraw from the governor’s race.
Trump took notice of Pence during the IN primary, noting that the governor had high praise for him despite endorsing one of his rivals.
Gingrich calmly answered questions about the selection process on Facebook Live, saying he had told Trump the choice was between having “two pirates on the ticket or a pirate and a relatively stable, more normal person”.
Pence, 57, has deep ties to evangelical Christians and other conservatives, particularly after signing a law a year ago that critics said would have allowed businesses to deny service to gay people for religious reasons.
Gingrich spoke for just over half an hour to the Republican group’s February 29 meeting in Washington, devoting about 10 minutes to Trump. The New Jersey governor, 53, quickly endorsed Trump after ending his own presidential bid, stunning many of his supporters.
