Sidney Crosby hoists Stanley Cup during parade in Canada
Local police on motorcycles sounded their sirens and other vehicles blasted horns as the procession moved along the parade route. The support here is incredible.
The coffee shop, visited frequently by Crosby as a kid, is on Forest Hills Parkway, which will be shut down Saturday to allow the Pittsburgh Penguins captain to parade the Cup.
A parade will be held today in Cole Harbour, N.S., to honour favourite son Sidney Crosby, who is bringing the Stanley Cup to his hometown fans.
He brought the Cup into the Sidney Crosby Hockey School – taking place this week at the Cole Harbour Place arena for the second year in a row – much to the delight of young players.
Crosby’s fellow Maritimers crafted their own tributes to “Sid the Kid”. “We came up to the front and saw Sidney Crosby walk through with the Stanley Cup and the Conn Smythe Trophy”. Crosby and the Penguins took the Stanley Cup last month after beating the San Jose Sharks in six games.
There were about 20 to 25 people in the location during Crosby’s visit, and 10 Tim’s workers, MacFarlane said, and Crosby mostly stayed behind the counter but chatted with people on his way out the door after staying for about 10 minutes.
