RNC chair says Trump softened stance on Muslims
It’s about standing up for the issues we care about as Republicans including the right to life of the unborn, protecting our 2nd Amendment gun rights and appointments to the Supreme Court that will impact our laws now-and for future generations.

Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus on Sunday sought to downplay the policy gulfs between Donald Trump and his newly minted running mate, Mike Pence, on issues like trade, the Iraq War and Trump’s proposed Muslim ban.
Priebus told CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday that Trump is calling for a temporary ban on immigration from countries that harbor and train terrorists until the USA has a better vetting system.
“It’s a binary choice”, Priebus said.
Trump returned for a round of photos with the Trump and Pence families.
“The American people are exhausted”, Pence said in remarks that included numerous same talking points that until recently he was using in his bid for re-election.
Cleveland Mayor Frank Johnson says there are no credible threats against the Republican National Convention, and that the city is prepared to handle anything that might occur.
The RNC head told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos that back in 2014 when Cleveland was picked to host the party convention, he hadn’t expected Trump would be the nominee.
The Florida delegation to Cleveland is full of people who once supported another presidential candidate – most often Bush or Rubio – but have since pivoted to Trump.
The pre-convention show got off to a rocky start, as the addition of Pence to the ticket dragged out over a few days amid rumblings that Trump was having second thoughts.
Priebus described Trump and Pence as being “somewhere in the middle of each other” and says Trump plans an engagement tour soon to attract Latino voters. “It really is, I think, presidential”.

With Indiana Governor Mike Pence joining the ticket as the Vice President selection, he brings strong executive experience as a Governor, plus a good perspective from his previous service in Congress. This will make the ticket stronger and will bring a big boost to the campaign in key states.
“This “Never Trump” push, it’s been an interesting story, but it’s one of noise at this point, not of substance”, Alabama GOP Chairwoman Terry Lathan said Sunday.
