PM Nawaz Sharif unwell, unable to return to Islamabad
This was Khan’s first visit to Azad Kashmir after his return from the United Kingdom.
The Premier, who is now in Lahore, “was due to travel to Islamabad tomorrow (Tuesday) morning but due to an infection in one of his leg incisions, he is suffering from fever”, the spokesperson said.
“If corruption could be eliminated by arresting low-level officers, it would have by now”, he said.
He said that Mr Sharif could not hold anyone accountable because he himself was involved in the transfer of ill-gotten wealth out of Pakistan.
Called for across-the-board accountability in the country, he said that the PTI would take to streets if the corrupt persons were not made accountable. He said that the process of accountability can not be carried out in the country because of the status quo. PTI Chairman said that 60% of Lahore’s population did not have access to clean drinking water adding that the government promised to decrease load shedding in the country whereas electricity prices were doubled.
A lesser know political party, Pakistan Justice Party (PJP) has reportedly filed an application in Lahore’s Anarkali police station, and has requested the police to register a case against Imran Khan over his “unconstitutional” statement.
While addressing a rally at the H. Khurshid Stadium in Muzaffarabad, Khan said that the rulers filled their pockets while they are in power.
Khan said that the prices of fuel had decreased whereas those of electricity had risen.
Comparing the coup attempt in Turkey with the situation in Pakistan, Imran Khan on Sunday said people of Pakistan will celebrate and distribute candies if the army takes over the country.
