Apple Pay Launches In France
It arrives with the support of MasterCard and Visa, as well as card issuers Banque Populaire, Caisse d’Epargne, Carrefour Banque, and Ticket Restaurant. Apple Stores in France are also included in the retail chains that will accept Apple Pay, as more and more locations like Orange and Galleries Lafayette departmental stores will be added with time.
As the service was launching in France, Apple Pay has now expanded to Hong Kong. In Hong Kong, cards from HSBC, DBS, BOCHK, and other popular banks are supported, with support soon to be added for HKT and BEA.
With France on board, Apple Pay now covers three countries in Europe, including the United Kingdom where it launched previous year, and Switzerland which became the second European market for Apple Pay only a fortnight ago.
Apple has confirmed the launch of its mobile payment system Apple Pay in France, the third country in Europe after the United Kingdom and Switzerland.
Since its inception in 2014, Apple Pay has been extended to cross-continental countries like Australia, U.S, U.K, Canada, China, and Singapore. The service is available on the iPhone 6s series, the iPhone 6 series, iPhone SE, Apple Watch, iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, iPad mini 3 and iPad mini 4.
Rumours surfaced in February that Apple was planning to launch Apple Pay in France at some point in the first half of 2016.
