Ex-President George HW Bush tweets about fall, neck injury
After landing in the hospital almost two weeks ago with a fractured bone in his neck, former President George H.W. Bush shared an amusing glimpse of his recovery Thursday on his Twitter account.
It is accompanied by a photo of Bush wearing what appears to be a neck brace and giving a double thumbs-up. He also gives thanks for the “kind get-well messages” he’s received.
Bush took a tumble on July 15 at his summer home in Kennebunkport. Doctors estimate that he will be fully recovered in as few as three or four months, Fox News reported.
Back in June 2014, Bush celebrated his 90th birthday by throwing himself out of a plane at a height of about 10,000 feet over Kennebunkport, Maine.
Bush was being treated at Portland’s Maine Medical Center, where a children’s hospital is named for his wife. He was hospitalized in Houston in December for about a week for treatment of shortness of breath.
