Star Wars reveals new Rogue One character
A “Star Wars” world with a host of new characters and a new feisty female lead was unveiled at a special fan event on Friday, as the cast of the upcoming film “Rogue One” discussed the latest chapter of the much-loved franchise. His face is obscured due to the mask that he wears to breathe. Seen in the image below, this interesting looking character is aptly named Edrio Two Tubes. Both Edrio and Bethnic share the nickname derived from the breathing apparatus that allows their Tognath physiology to process oxygen atmospheres.
According to the Star Wars Facebook page, Tubes is from the planet Yar Togna, which was conquered and occupied by the villainous Empire. Together they have joined forces with Saw Gerrera to strike back against the Empire.
Two Tubes was revealed at San Diego Comic-Con as a life-sized statue. Past year the opening night of the SDCC saw Warner Bros showcase the costumes of Batman v Superman’s three leading characters.
Gerrera is a character who first appeared on the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and he’s being brought to life in live-action form by way of Forrest Whitaker in the first Star Wars anthology film. The feature film is set to debut on December 16th, 2016.
Stormtroopers have been the punch line of the galaxy in the first three Star Wars movies, and barely improved when they were remade by the First Order in The Force Awakens, to the point where one of them defected under their noses.
