JJ Abrams: No ‘Star Trek’ recasting for Yelchin

One month after the accidental death of Anton Yelchin, “Star Trek” producer J.J. Abrams has announced that the late actor’s role will not be recast in future sequels.

Speaking to Postmedia Network [via The Toronto Sun], Abrams said, “I would say there’s no replacing him”.
“Star Trek Beyond” star Zachary Quinto has refuted reports that he is engaged to partner Miles McMillan. But I’m looking forward to it, I love Chris, I think he’s fantastically talented. The mammoth movie screen was erected especially for the event.
“As wonderful as this is to be here with all of you and to be celebrating the 50th anniversary of ‘Star Trek, ‘ there is something wrong tonight”. “There is something missing tonight, there is someone missing tonight”. “There is someone missing tonight”.
The pop-culture celebration is kicking off Wednesday evening with the festival’s preview night, where con-goers with four-day passes have first crack at the collectables, free swag and photo opportunities on the San Diego Convention Center floor.
The actress also shared a behind-the-scenes video on her way to the premiere, thanking fans for their continued support as the cast continues to honor the late Anton Yelchin’s legacy.
Comic-Con officially begins Thursday and continues through Sunday.
