Benghazi victim’s mother: ‘Hillary for prison’
Patricia Smith, the mother of Sean Smith, said to cheers on the opening night of the Republican National Convention.
“Smith has said that Clinton, now the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, lied to her by blaming the assault on an anti-Muslim video, instead of labeling it a calculated terrorist attack”.
Geist says he directly blames Clinton for the attack on the US diplomatic mission that resulted in the deaths of Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and three other Americans.
“I blame Hillary Clinton”, she said at about the 2:10 mark to thunderous applause. “But when I saw Hillary Clinton at Sean’s coffin ceremony just days later, she looked me squarely in the eye and told me a video was responsible”. Smith said, apparently noticing one of the signs waving in the audience that declared, “Hillary Clinton for Prison”.
“I blame Hillary Clinton”, she said.
Smith went on to slam Clinton’s set of policies and her loose handling of the truth, and she said Donald Trump was everything Clinton was not, calling him “direct, blunt and strong”.
Cleveland, Ohio and the GOP prepare for the upcoming 2016 Republican National Convention.
I will, I must, say many bad words about the GOP convention organizers.
CLEVELAND (AP) – The mother of a State Department employee killed in the deadly attacks in Benghazi, Libya, angrily lashed out at Hillary Clinton on Monday at the Republican National Convention, accusing Clinton of lying to her about her son’s death. I had the same sort of empathy for Cindy Sheehan, also a grieving mother, who became an increasingly strident antiwar (and, at first, anti-Republican) activist following the death of her son Casey, 23, an Army soldier killed in 2004 in Iraq. “Her emotions are her own”.
“Hillary Clinton is a woman, a mother and a grandmother of two”. It’s not true. It’s logically not true.
Trump promoted some of those people to top jobs based on their abilities and “street smarts”, even though other executives had passed them over because they had not gone to fancy schools. Smith did not let herself cry, but numerous delegates did cry as thousands of strangers came together in appreciation for her family’s sacrifice.
Sean died during the 2012 Benghazi attacks. “All security has been pulled from the embassy”. And when he asked why, he never received a response. Smith said, bringing many in the audience to tears. “Sean was a wonderful son, and the father of my two fantastic grandchildren”.
