Daughter Ivanka Trump raises issues father rarely mentions
In a rare moment in politics, Ivanka Trump made a really smart fashion choice on the final night of the Republican National Convention.
Trump’s eldest daughter, Ivanka, took the stage to introduce her father as the Republican nominee, and by most accounts, she was the star of the entire week that stole the show.
She wore a blush colored sheath from the Ivanka Trump label.
But Ivanka, who has her own fashion label, is a businesswoman in her own right – and happened to be selling one nearly like it. It also provides a calculated contrast to a campaign filled with fashion faux pas, like Ivanka’s father giving out fake diamond cufflinks and the ,000 Armani jacket worn by Hillary Clinton while she preached about inequality. On her blog, the 34-year-old clarified that the dress was “coming soon” from the Ivanka Trump Collection, and referred to the linked look as a “similar style”.
The morning after her speech, Ivanka tweeted to her almost 2 million followers, directing them to where they could purchase a $138 version. It was simple and elegant and became such a hit that it sold out in Nordstrom’s and Macy’s online stores within hours of her speech.
The entrepreneur was also sporting her own designs – $158 off-white dress, $135 black suede pumps and her own considerably pricier precious jewelry – in the Quicken Loans Arena on Wednesday night, when photographers shot her pointing toward her father’s nemesis Ted Cruz.
