Excessive heat returns to New Jersey
Bradley Airport hit 91 degrees on Thursday, and it’s predicted that we’ll stay above 90 well into next week.
We can expect another sweltering summer afternoon Friday with highs close to 105 almost statewide along with a warm south breeze. There will be a Real Feel around 100 degrees Saturday.
Dan Zarrow is Chief Meteorologist for Townsquare Media New Jersey. So if you are outside for prolonged periods, avoid strenuous outdoor activities. We will see some clouds overhead, which could break into showers and thunderstorms around Monday evening. Temperatures have a chance of reaching their peak before storms arrive.
A system coming in from the northwest today will spark shower and storm development late this morning and especially this afternoon. The biggest would be strong/damaging winds.
Another hot day is on tap for Friday, just not as humid as today. Temperatures in southern areas will climb into the mid-90s. Our temperatures will be in the mid 80s by Wednesday.
Saturday brings more humidity with periodic thunder north and a chance of evening thunder south.
Partly cloudy, with a low around 73.
Saturday will be a much more pleasant 90s if that makes sense. High: Low-mid 90s. Sunday is probably the least humid day of the next seven. High: Upper 80s-low 90s.
The humidity returns by Friday and the combination of heat and humidity will help fuel afternoon showers and thunderstorms.
