Hillary Clinton: “Ted Cruz Was Right” About Trump, Vote Your Conscience
This is a lower proportion of black delegates than were at the 1964 convention with Barry Goldwater, a Republican candidate who opposed the Civil Rights Act.
“You know, he’ll come and endorse over the next little while”, he said.
“I’m not sure where Mr. Trump gets his data from regarding our gang issues here in Baltimore”, Libit said. “I always like to be intentional about winning, and I think they could be a bit more intentional to be honest”.
Other assertions in Trump’s speech will be subjected to similar scrutiny, but many of those who watched it on television will never catch up with the corrections.

One common theme emerged from the Republican National Convention this week – stopping Hillary Clinton. The announcement appeared to have been delayed by news of the terror attack Friday in a Munich shopping mall.
While Trump claimed that the Republican Party was behind him, his convention featured a noisy floor protest Monday by anti-Trump delegates over convention voting rules.
She was also floated, by her adoring father during a presidential debate, as being worthy of gracing the $10 bill – and a few weeks back, there was even casual talk that Ivanka would be the ideal running mate for the Donald: a young, smart, uplifting woman who could soften his hard edges. Senator Bernie Sanders, whose supporters Trump has been trying to court, wrote on Twitter. I saw exactly what his speech was. Some Republicans even viewed the relentless stream of attacks on Clinton, by Trump and numerous convention speakers before him, as having gone awry.
Jim Wood, a lifelong Republican, noted that Trump is less focused on social issues than past GOP candidates, but he said, “There’s nothing wrong with that”. “It’s incredibly negative. The idea of a bunch of people chanting, ‘Lock her up!’ is about as appealing to most people as human sacrifice”. In other words, all of the groups her father’s campaign is having trouble attracting.
Henry Barbour, a Republican national committeeman from MS, was willing to forgive the Trump’s campaign mistakes.
Fleischer said that by conventional standards, he’d grade the convention a C-plus or B-minus, but this isn’t a conventional campaign.
Either way, a central question now for the party will become how to restore the post-Donald Trump brand, return to conservative principles and re-emerge as a genuine and appealing alternative to the Democratic Party, which is also now struggling with its own radicals. “I can not and will not support and vote for Hillary Clinton”.
I mentioned that a number of well-researched articles show that Trump’s business success isn’t as rosy as he makes it out to be. Some 31.5 million viewers tuned in to his speech, only slightly ahead of the 30.3 million who watched Mitt Romney in 2012 but far below the almost 40 million who watched John McCain in 2008. On Thursday, a draft of Trump’s acceptance speech leaked to reporters early, reportedly via a Republican who shared it with allies of Democrat Hillary Clinton.
If the sum of the parts can add up to the whole, Trump left this convention up only slightly, thanks in large part to people who are not him – his kids, his running mate, his former rival.
And Trump, speaking the end of a week dedicated to unifying the party, once again revived the conspiracy theory published in the National Enquirer that linked Cruz’s father to John F. Kennedy assassin Lee Harvey Oswald – an accusation that has no evidence behind it.
He’s a successful businessman, she said, so she thinks he’d be good for small businesses such as hers.
“I know nothing about his father”.
