Trump Says He’ll Never Accept Endorsement From Cruz
Another ally, New York Congressman Chris Collins, said on Fox News that Cruz has “ended his own career” with his refusal to endorse, which Cruz repeated Thursday morning at an appearance before his home state delegation.
A day after being booed off the Republican National Convention stage, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz has been killed by his own people. Am I watching this through blue-colored glasses? “I didn’t start anything with the wife”, he added.
Lance: It’s such a disaster it’s kind of hilarious.
And that future apparently doesn’t involve Trump in four years, whether Trump wins or loses in November.
“I think he hit it out of the ballpark”, Hensarling said.
“What I wanted to do last night is lay out the principles I believe we stand for as Republicans”, he went on to say.
Some defended Hutchison, saying they, too, were angry at the chaos on the convention floor spurred by Cruz’s speech. As the crowd, fiercely opposed to Clinton, broke out in its oft-used chant, “Lock her up”, he waved them off, and declared, “Let’s defeat her in November”. “He only thinks of himself, he doesn’t think about party”.
But you make a good point. I’m a Republican and I can barely stand to watch these folks.
Steven: Funny. You and I are having the exact same experience but from opposite sides.
“If a convention’s goal is to unite your party behind one candidate, Sen”. “People talked about my family and I didn’t cry about it”. “I don’t do anything unless I win. We got it de facto from the people that matter”, Trump Jr. stated to CNN. But Miller’s campaign spokesman, Todd Smith, said the convention should not necessarily be about Trump, either. Do you think he cam pull it off? “One, I know her to well”. “Ted’s got time to get right on this deal, and I hope he will”.
They roared at lines about abortion, guns and building a wall on the Mexican border but otherwise seemed curiously subdued – clapping, but not as much as I’d expect at a speech that basically consisted of Cruz ripping off chunks of raw steak and tossing them to his conservative audience.
“I don’t care. We don’t need it”. When they make that charge again in 2020, it will have a much more receptive audience. The focus should be about “party unity and the risk that our nation faces if Hillary Clinton is elected as president”, he said. Bill’s presidency was full of things to hate-interns, selling nuclear technology to North Korea, and maybe most of all Al Gore.
Further, in risky times like this, people tend to choose the known versus the unknown.
Trump Organization staff writer Meredith McIver released a statement Wednesday apologizing for the mistake, saying she submitted her resignation to Donald Trump, but he refused to accept it.
Cruz would not say for certain at the breakfast Thursday whether he would vote for Trump but did say he will not vote for Hillary Clinton. Speakers scheduled to appear before Trump’s grand finale include Peter Thiel, co-founder of PayPal; Tom Barrack, CEO of Colony Capital; Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin; and Jerry Falwell Jr., president of Liberty University and a well-known evangelical leader.
