Man Wielding Machete Kills Woman In Germany
“He ran with his machete even behind a patrol auto”. The German newspaper Bild reports the woman was pregnant.
Authorities said they believe the man acted alone and there was no continuing threat to people in and around Reutlingen. The attacker, he added, had come to Germany from Syria one and a half years ago.
Witnesses said the attacker was seen arguing with the woman before the murder so it does sound like this was motivated by a personal problem.
The incident took place at around 4:30 pm (1430 GMT) near the main bus station in the centre of Reutlingen, a southwestern city of some 100,000 near Stuttgart.
Three people were also injured in the assault, which ended when the 21-year-old assailant was hit by a auto.
A MAN has been arrested by cops in Germany after allegedly killing a woman and injuring two others by attacking them with a machete near a doner kebab stand.
The attack follows not only the Munich shootings – where an 18-year-old Iranian-German obsessed with mass killings shot dead nine before turning his gun on himself – but a series of incidents across Western Europe.
The man, who was arrested, “had a dispute” with the woman and killed her “with a machete” before injuring a second woman and a man, police stated.
“There is no danger to anyone else at this time”, police said, adding that the situation was calm and under control. “The perpetrator was completely out of his mind” the witness said.
Some Germans are also fearful of any signs of a rise in crime or lawlessness after the country registered some 1 million asylum-seek.
