Mourinho ‘confident’ United will bring in Pogba
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus have made it abundantly clear to Manchester United that the price-tag is €120m, not including any bonuses or commissions.
“Everybody speaks about one, but it wouldn’t be a surprise for me if it is not him and it is another one because we went for profile. I am really confident that Mr Woodward and the owners will bring me that profile of player”.
“If you think that Mario makes me despair you are mistaken because his life has improved a lot and now he only needs to find the right moment”.
“I want the best for my players, and therefore for Pogba too”.
Earlier on Thursday, United boss Jose Mourinho congratulated the club’s board on doing “fantastic work” during the transfer window, with the signings of Eric Bailly, Mkhitaryan and Ibrahimovic representing “75 per cent of the job”. It’s a profile we have, we have options, and we’re going to get a fourth player.
And Allegri added: “He is another quality addition so whatever happens with Pogba, we will be in good shape”.
Braida said: “Clearly when you talk about figures that go over €100m [£83m], you need to reflect on them”.
“We have one space for a midfield player”.
Reports in Europe have claimed that the deal for Juventus midfielder Pogba has been agreed, while it has been reported in the United Kingdom that a fee for agent Mino Raiola is a remaining hurdle before the transfer can be completed.
But speaking to journalists on the club’s pre-season tour of China, ahead of their match against Borussia Dortmund, the Portuguese coach confirmed for the first time that Pogba is a viable option.
Pogba has since emerged as one of the top midfielders in Europe, playing an integral part in the France side that reached the Euro 2016 final and helping Juventus win four successive Serie A titles. The market is already hard.
