Redskins release safety Jarrett
Confirming a suspicion I’ve had for months now, the Washington Redskins today waived safety Kyshoen Jarrett, a sixth round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft who unexpectedly played a big role in the team’s playoff run.
Jarrett had reportedly recently seen specialists in Denver and Minnesota with hopes of finding a way to recover from the injury.
Jarrett, a Virginia Tech product, appeared in all 16 regular-season games in his rookie year and started six. But that rookie season ended with an injury, and now Jarrett’s time in Washington is over.
Kyshoen Jarrett – a 2015 sixth-round pick for the Redskins – was waived on Monday the team announced.
Jarrett injured his shoulder in the January 3rd regular season finale against Dallas.
The roster stands at 88 following Jarrett’s release and could go down to 87 with the news of Junior Galette being out for the year…
Washington moved quickly to address the safety position this offseason, signing Broncos backup David Bruton and drafting hybrid safety/linebacker Su’a Cravens in the second round.
